Fall Guide: Festivals and Fairs

Fall festivals are such a fun part this season! And metro-Atlanta has So. Many. Offerings! We’ve found the best opportunities for you and your family, no matter where you live. 

ITP Festivals

East Atlanta Strut

Location: East Atlanta Village

Date: September 23

Cost: Admission is free!

Description: This is a unique festival which includes a classic car show, live local music, an adult game area, an artist market, a free kids village, community booths, food, beverages, and the famous Strut Parade!

Candler Park Fall Festival

Location: Candler Park neighborhood

Date: September 30-October 1

Cost: Admission is free!

Description: This festival has a little bit of everything! An artist market, tons of food vendors, an area just for kids called Kidlandia, a Tour of Homes, live music, and a 5K/Fun Run on September 30th. 

Sweet Auburn Music Fest

Location: Sweet Auburn Historic District

Date: September 30-October 1

Cost: Admission is free!

Description: Obviously, there will be great music! They will also have kids’ activities, great food, and lots of great independent vendors. 

Fall Festival on Ponce 

Location: Druid Hills neighborhood

Date: October 14-15

Cost: Admission is free!

Description: This is an arts festival which will have tons of artists and live entertainment. They will have lots of healthy food choices and the festival is dog-friendly!

Brookhaven Arts Festival

Location: Brookhaven, near MARTA station

Date: October 21-22

Cost: Admission is free!

Description: This neighborhood festival features over 140 artists, live music, and food vendors.

OTP Festivals

Serenbe Farms Fall Festival

Location: Serenbe Farms, Chattahoochee Hills

Date: September 23

Cost: $20 in advance, $25 at festival (kids are free, adult tickets include beer)

Description: The festival will include live music, food trucks, s’mores kits, children’s activities, a pick-your-own farm station, and a mini-CSA farmer’s market. Proceeds from the festival will go to help the community purchase an electric tractor.

Douglas County September Saturdays

Location: Douglasville

Date: September 23 & 30

Cost: Admission is free!

Description: This is a community festival which features vendors, choral concerts, a children’s play area, a used book sale, a child ID program, and free vision testing. 

Duluth Fall Festival

Location: Downtown Duluth

Date: September 28-October 1

Cost: Carnival rides can be paid for in tickets, the rest of the festival is free!

Description: There is so much going on at this festival! They have a carnival which runs all 4 days, a parade on Saturday, live music both Saturday & Sunday, a 5K sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts, a Silent Auction, and a community worship service led by Duluth United Methodist on Sunday morning.

Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival

Location: Stone Mountain Park

Date: Fridays- Sundays September 29-October 29

Cost: Admission included with Adventure Pass Tickets, which range from $26.95-$31.95

Description: Enjoy all of Stone Mountain’s regular attractions (hiking the mountain, the ropes course, petting zoo, and the Laser Show Spectacular) along with special Pumpkin Festival Fun! Play carnival games, listen to Adventure Tales Storytelling, meet Spookley the Pumpkin, watch a fun parade, and participate in a pie-eating contest!

Georgia State Fair

Location: Atlanta Motor Speedway, Hampton

Date: September 29-October 8

Cost: Adults $10, Kids 5-12 $5 (Rides are paid for separately, with unlimited rides for $25 every day except Tuesday, when $10 gets you unlimited rides)

Description: This is a classic state fair, with rides, music, food, and even pig races! 

Chalktoberfest

Location: Downtown Marietta

Date: October 14-15

Cost: Admission is free!

Description: Artists from all over metro-Atlanta recreate famous works of art in chalk on the roads around Marietta Square. They also have areas for kids to create their own art as well as food, craft beer, and artist demonstrations. 

Georgia Apple Festival

Location: Ellijay, North Georgia

Date: October 14-15, 21-22

Cost: Adults $5, Kids 10 and under free

Description: This one is a bit north of metro-Atlanta but is worth the drive, especially if you pair it to a farm visit in the North Georgia area! Arts, crafts, kids’ activities, and lots of apples! 

Owl-O-Ween

Location: Kennesaw

Date: October 27-28

Cost: Adults $14, Kids 3-12 $6

Description: This festival at Kennesaw State University has food, craft beer, roving performers, and trick or treating. But the REAL draw is the hot air balloons! The balloons themselves are amazing and you can even ride on a tethered balloon! A very unique festival.
