3 Ways To Get The Most Out of Your Day

3 easy Ways

As busy moms, it can be hard to find (or make)  time to work-out. I know for me, I would like to join a gym, but it’s not necessarily the most realistic thing for me right now because I’m using my free time in so many other ways.

I’ve learned, though, that pretty much any activity can be turned into a workout if you try. Some days (in reality like twice a month) I’m able to jog about a quarter of a mile with my son. There’s also Dailyburn which I’ve heard great things about but have yet to try (because mom life right?). But if I find that the day is getting away from us and there hasn’t been much (strenuous) physical activity then I have to get creative. Would y’all like this in list form? I feel like it may be easy to follow and less all over the place so I’ll list it up for ya.

  1. Feeding time is workout time! My son is a huge high chair protester, but when he was younger and immobile it was a life-saver. So, feeding time equaled…perfect time to workout out. In between spoonfuls of baby food goodness, jog in place, do some lunges, get some squats in, don’t be afraid to just work up a little sweat. Might as well put those double duty-ing skills to use!
  2. Walk it out. The local park that my son and I go to has a few sidewalk trails that are nice. Why not take advantage of being outside and get a little walk in? It may not be what you planned to do, but it’s a nice way to get the exercise over with. You could even walk back and forth from the car to the swings a couple of times just to get your blood flowin’. Not to mention, running after our little rascals can be a workout in itself. Also, anywhere that you go with your stroller…get your “work-out” walk on. You know that walk that’s not a jog but it’s faster than normal? You can do that at the mall, the grocery store, or while running errands.
  3. Dance. Cooking while listening to music (and drinking wine too, but that’s another post) is the only way to do it. While cooking, and trying to engage your little one, turn some music on and pump it up! I always end up feeling a bit warm when we do this. Baby gets a good laugh, you get a workout, and hubby gets dinner. Winners! Sometimes you may just need an impromptu dance party as well. Whatever works.

The point is, anything that gets you moving is good for you! Be innovative! Use your time to the fullest…everyone needs a happy & healthy mama πŸ˜‰

  1. My son and I are definitely fans of #3. We’re getting really good at creating “Old MacDonald” dance moves. πŸ™‚
