Rejuvenation :: What exactly does it mean?

This post is sponsored by our partners at Buckhead Facial & Plastic Surgery. However the review is authentically the writer's experience and reviews.

Vaginal RejuvenationI am about to get real, like really real.  You know all those people who say, “If it ain’t broke then don’t fix it?”  Well, they are liars.  All of them.

This post has taken me so long to write that I’m more embarrassed about how long it has taken me to write it than how nervous I am to tell you about the secret I learned.  I’m going to tell you the truth, the whole truth, and you can thank me later.

Why am I going to tell you?  Because even though sharing something personal can be scary, I am part of this community because I believe in empowering Atlanta Area moms to have as much JOY in their life as possible, and this experience has certainly lead to more of that in my house!

I’m a mom of three beautiful children.  All of whom were conceived and delivered naturally (albeit with a lovely epidural each time!)  My oldest just turned 8 and my youngest 2.  We are confident our family is complete and knew the last baby was just that, our last baby.  So when our partners at Buckhead Facial & Plastic Surgery asked if I wanted to partner to share the joys of a “mommy makeover” it was the right question at exactly the right time.

What is a “mommy makeover”?  A phrase I learned by watching important television on multiple casts/seasons of The Real Housewives on Bravo.  Professionals call it feminine rejuvenation which is a treatment performed by a minimally invasive laser called CO2RE® Intima.  The treatment is meant to restore the look and feel of the area inside AND outside.  Yes, that’s right.

Now when we started I told you I didn’t think anything was “broken.” My sex drive was healthy and my husband wasn’t complaining.  I assume it couldn’t hurt anything and I’m adventurous enough to try something new.  Plus, I did have the occasional postpartum issue where if I said sneezed while walking I may have a little leak.  Worth a shot??

The treatment itself usually takes around 15 minutes and they recommend three treatments approximately 4-6 weeks apart.  All you have to do is show up at their lovely office and relax on this Buckhead Facial Plastic Surgery - Exam Room (3)comfy bed in the exam room.

It’s not too foreign from all the checkups you get while pregnant: undress bottom down and lay down.  You get to cover up with a snuggly blanket if you like and the staff is super friendly and supportive.  They explained each step of the process before it happened and the aftercare.

Step 1: Numbing
The nurse will use numbing cream which just feels like lotion around the external area.  You will then wait around 10 minutes for the cream to numb the area.

Step 2: CO2RE® Intima Internal
If you’ve had a vaginal ultrasound I would use that to describe the “minimally invasive” part of the procedure.  It is a smaller instrument but that’s about how you feel as they use the laser on your internal parts.  They give you a laser “zap” and do this at specific increments from top of the cervix to bottom.

Step 3: CO2RE® Intima External
The outer layer of the area and surround can also be treated.  You do not have to do this portion but it is recommended.  For sake of argument, I didn’t think there was anything “wrong” with mine but I like it a lot better now!

Step 4: Recovery
You will be sent home with two small jars of creams.  One is used the first couple days and the other is used about the first week.  You cannot insert anything for another 7-10 days (i.e. have your procedure after your menstrual cycle).

The entire time in the exam room takes around 45 minutes when all is said and done.  Minimal discomfort during the procedure and outside of a somewhat hot sensation the first hour the recovery is next to none.  I went home after mine and used a maxi pad with witch hazel and ice to cool off but you could certainly go back to work or routine in most cases if you like.

Step 5: Enjoy
Like I said, I wasn’t complaining before but good gracious do you have a happy household now!  I never have to worry about a bladder leak and that benefit began after the first treatment.  After the second treatment, my husband noticed a significant enjoyment level during intercourse that was almost shocking.  And after the third, we were both extremely pleased with the results.

After all is said and done I would recommend this treatment to any woman and highly recommend the team at Buckhead Facial & Plastic surgery. If you would like to learn more, please request your consultation with Dr. Jarmuz online, or call the office at (404) 233-3937 to schedule an appointment.
