What do You do when Spring has Sprung in Atlanta?

Atlanta is a beautiful city any time of the year. With its relatively mild winter weather, you can still sense a buzz around the city that lasts beyond the holiday season. As spring starts to move in, you can’t help but notice all of the flowers starting to bloom. Laughter of children starts to fill the air again. Residents start to get a livelier pep in their step because the days are getting longer and the warmer temperatures are here to stay.

Spring definitely starts to make me feel a lot better!

One of my favorite things to do is to check out events that are happening all over the city. I’ve compiled this list of some of the ones I love with you in mind.  With spring break happening all around the city, some of these make great staycation options. Others are perfect to grab some friends or family and head out to enjoy.  I hope that you may find some new favorites here as well.

BLOOM (SIGNATURE EVENT FOR MOMS)

This day is so fun! Bloom is sponsored by the City Moms Blog Network (home to the Atlanta Area Moms Blog) and is a fantastic event that caters to new and expectant moms. We have some awesome sponsors joining us this year and you won’t want to miss it! Our team is working very hard and is committed to making sure that all of you have a wonderful time! We can’t wait to see all of you! Tickets are still available so make sure that you check out our page for details.

DOGWOOD FESTIVAL

This is an annual event that is held at Piedmont Park every year. My family loves this event! There are activities for everyone in the family. You and your family can enjoy amazing food, artist markets, rides for the kids and so much more. It’s a weekend long event and features different bands on the main and international stages. Grab your walking shoes and go prepared to have a good time at the Dogwood Festival.

FESTIVAL ON PONCE

Held at historic Olmsted Linear Park, you and your family will enjoy a day of local musicians, arts and crafts and delicious food. The landscape of the park is beautiful and adds to the overall experience. The Festival on Ponce is definitely a fun time. This festival is held twice yearly — spring and fall.

INMAN PARK FESTIVAL AND HOME TOUR

Kicking off with a tour of several beautiful homes on the first day, the Inman Park festival is a favorite among many in the Atlanta area. Complete with three stages of music, a kids safe play zone, arts, crafts, amazing food and a parade, this festival has something for the entire family.

DUNWOODY LEMONADE DAYS

Can I just say that the name of this festival is what first attracted me to it years ago? Just hearing the word lemonade definitely puts me in the mood for all things warmer weather. A signature event for the city of Dunwoody, there are full size carnival rides, multiple music stages, food trucks and so much more at the Lemonade Days festival.  Looking to get some exercise in? No problem! They also have a 5k that coincides with the festival as well. It’s one of the most popular events held in Dunwoody each year!

There are so many things happening in our beautiful city this time of year! Check out some of these and let us know what your favorites are!

Angel
Angel is originally from the Chicagoland area and moved to Atlanta more than 15 years ago.   In need of some new photographs for a project she was working on, a friend referred her to a photographer that had done work for him. Little did she know that day would change her life as the photographer, James, ended up being the man she would marry.  She is a mom to three princes, a ministry speaker and blogger.  This mompreneur loves connecting with and encouraging other women to embrace their passions and walk in purpose. With a cold latte in hand and latest read under her arm, she's usually seen looking for missing Lego pieces, monster trucks and chasing little people. In her free time, you will catch her traveling, spending time with family and friends, volunteering, or enjoying a live music festival. You will also catch her blogging at www.angelpenn.com or updating her life in squares on Instagram.
