FAIRS AND FESTIVALS   

Georgia State Fair

Dates: September 28-October 7

Location: Atlanta Motor Speedway

Description: Carnival rides, live music, fair food, kiddie rides, petting zoo, pig races, Hollywood Circus, and more.

Cost: Free ages 4 and under; $5 ages 5-12; $10 ages 13+. Unlimited ride wristbands $25 (all ages)

Cumming Country Fair

Dates: October 4-14

Location: Cumming Fairgrounds; Cumming, GA

Description: A petting zoo and pony rides, puppet show, Olympic High Dive show, Grizzly experience, rides.

Cost: Parking– $5. Ages 10 and under FREE; Ages 11 and up $7. Additional cost for ride tickets

Gwinnett County Fair

Dates: September 13-23

Location: Lawrenceville, GA

Description: There will be a variety of shows and contests, 4-h shows and exhibits, carnival rides, live concerts, commercial exhibits, food vendors and much more. 

Cost: (Cash only) 5 and under free, 6-11 $5, 12-64 $10, seniors $5.

Stone Mountain Highland Games and Scottish Festival

Dates: October 19-21

Location: Stone Mountain Park

Description: Listen to bagpipe bands and Scottish Fiddling, watch Highland dancers, and witness athletic events such as the hammer throw and sheaf toss. There is a designated Children’s area with crafts, entertainment, and athletics.

Cost: $5 ages 4-12; $20 adult for games admission.

Hot Air Balloon Festival

Dates: August 31-September 2

Location: Callaway Gardens

Description: Tethered balloon rides (additional cost), evening balloon glows, live music and performances, classic car show, disc dog demonstrations, birds of prey show, fireworks, kid zone activities.

Cost: Friday— $15 ages 6-12, $25 ages 13+; Saturday and Sunday– $25 ages 6-12, $35 ages 13+; 5 and under always free.

Atlanta Greek Festival

Dates: September 27-30

Location: Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Atlanta, GA

Description: Explore Greek food and drink, enjoy traditional entertainment, and have fun shopping for this 4-day celebration of Greek culture.

Cost: $5; children 12 and under free. Different packages available for various prices, some include food tickets!

Scarecrow Harvest

Date: September 29

Location: Alpharetta, GA

Description: Check out dozens of life-size scarecrows that have been created and put on display by local schools. Free family fall festival includes live music, hayrides to the Log Cabin, quirky face painting, festival food, artsy activities, stimulating story-telling and engaging inflatables. 

Cost: Free

Fall Fest

Date: September 29-30

Location: Candler Park, Atlanta, GA

Description: Two days of live music, artists market, 5k race and 1-mile fun run, Tour of Homes, and food trucks! Kidlandia will be a carnival-like area featuring rides, shows, entertainment, and treats!

Cost: 5k race registration $25/person; 1 mile fun run registration $10/person. Admission to the festival is free.
