A Crafty Morning at Red Seal Craft Studio in Roswell {sponsored post}

This is a sponsored post. I received a free craft project of my choice in exchange for writing this post, but the enthusiasm is all my own!

Are you guilty of buying all the supplies for a craft project, then just never having the time? Do you have a shelf full of dusty scrapbooking papers or beads or craft paints, and a Pinterest board full of ideas, and not a whole lot to show for it? I’m raising my hand over here, y’all. It’s been so much harder to find time for my beloved crafts since I became a mom.

Red Seal Studio space, wall art reads "a crafting revolution"

This is what’s awesome about Red Seal Craft Studio in historic Roswell. Studio owner Carla has all the supplies ready and waiting for you, so you can have fun and actually complete a craft project—without ever going on a craft supply binge. Even if you aren’t a dedicated crafter like me, it’s a great place to get your hands into a craft project in a fun and social atmosphere.

My Experience at Red Seal

I visited Red Seal on a sunny Tuesday in May. It was a fantastic way to spend my morning: listening to 80’s music, chatting with Carla and the other customers, and getting some quality craft time. The best part, though, is that there’s not a single new tool or supply gathering dust on my craft shelf at home.

Glass etching project in progress

Carla made the process so simple for me. I knew that I wanted to etch a set of rocks glasses—I had never done glass etching before, so I was excited to have someone walk me through everything. But I had no idea what kind of design I wanted! A monogram, a fun phrase, something floral… we quickly settled on a bicycle theme, because my family loves to ride bikes. Carla helped me choose graphics (no artistic skills required) and print them out on her Cricut. Then she helped me through the glass etching process.

My finished craft project was a set of 4 rocks glasses, etched with bicycle designs

I was so glad Carla was there to guide me with her expertise. If I’d been attempting this alone, I would have watched a lot of amateur YouTube videos! Carla offered hands-on help and some great tips, so I could just relax and finish my project.

I love how my glasses turned out. I chose a different bicycle design for each of my four glasses: a beach cruiser for me, a road bike for my husband, a bike with streamers and a banana seat for my kiddo*, and a tandem bike with a basket, too. The designs came out so perfectly crisp, and because it’s etched, I never have to worry about the design rubbing off.

*My son is a toddler, so maybe he can drink milk out of his rocks glass while mama and daddy enjoy a bloody mary.

About Red Seal Craft Studio

Red Seal offers a variety of projects, beyond the glass etching that I decided to try. The painted wooden signs are super cute and Pinterest-ready. When I visited, two other customers were busy making jewelry, which was fun and on-trend. I’ll definitely be back to try my hand at the jewelry! Those supplies and techniques have always seemed daunting to me, but it looked so doable with Carla’s help.

Red Seal offers Open Studio time, which is when I visited. They also schedule a crafting Girls’ Night Out, whether you want to have a private group, or attend the Open Girls’ Night Out to meet new people. Check the calendar on their website for dates and times, then sign up to let them know you’re coming!

You can even book a party there for yourself or your kids or teens. The space is gorgeous, with exposed wood ceilings and an open feel. Again, check the calendar online to sign up.

I had so much fun visiting on a Tuesday morning, I can only imagine how much fun it would be with a few friends and maybe a glass of wine! (BYO. I asked, of course.) Who wants to join me?
