Hey, Atlanta, there’s a new kid in town!

Children’s Museum of Atlanta just unveiled their newest feature exhibit and it is all kinds of awesome. Sid the Science Kid: The Super-Duper Exhibit was an absolute hit with all three of my kids (ages 2-11). This fun traveling exhibit brings to life the award-winning PBS KIDS TV series, Sid the Science Kid.

The exhibit recreates Sid’s kitchen, bedroom, backyard, and classroom, allowing kids to become “science kids” themselves! Kids can step into Sid’s world and investigate everyday science questions through the use of scientific tools and hands-on activities.

Check out our favorite parts of Sid’s world!

As soon as we walked into Sid’s house, we felt right at home!

In Sid’s kitchen, we learned about our senses. Using touch we reached into the drawers and guess which items we were feeling.

We found patterns in the refrigerator and the kids took turns guessing which came next.

We also had a great time pretending to cook breakfast for Sid’s family.

In Sid’s bedroom, we challenged our memories. We worked with a simple machine to catapult items off Sid’s bed. We even explored some Super-Duper-Ooper-Schmooper Good Ideas!

The kids absolutely loved the giant treehouse in the backyard and had a great time using a pulley system to send items from the ground up to the windows. There was even a telephone tube to send secret messages back and forth.

Over on the playground, we got to put on our own version of “Good Laughternoon.” Quick. Why can’t you give Elsa a balloon? Because she will “Let It Go!” Yep. We’ll be here all week, folks.

Even though it would be so hard to pick a favorite, we spent the most time in the Super Fab Lab.

From insects to air cannons and everything in between, we ran out of time before we ran out of fun.

We had the best time learning about microscopes and magnifying glasses. We learned about sound waves using rubber bands and friction and gravity by racing blocks down three different surfaces.

It was fun for the whole family!

You are not going to want to miss out on visiting Sid’s Super Duper Exhibit, so make sure you get down to the museum before time runs out. Sid will be at Children’s Museum of Atlanta until January 15, 2018.

While you’re there, be sure to check all the other fantastic exhibits and activities. This is one of our favorite places in the city and I’m sure your family will love it, too!
