Summer Essentials

Tackling summer isn’t always easy. Camp packing lists are as long as the day and the hot Atlanta sun means our kiddos aren’t the only ones in need of a splash pad to park on. Activities abound but can leave you feeling and looking soggy as a swim diaper. Here are some of my summertime essentials to keep mom looking as stylish and feeling as fresh as possible!

Beauty Counter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer – This is the perfect light base for long summer days. It gives your skin a dewy hue and offers sun protection to boot.  While you’re perusing their long list of safe skin care options, check out another one of my favorites, the charcoal soap.

Levi’s 501 Cutoff Jean Shorts – Finally! The perfect denim shorts. After a long search (that started last summer), I’ve finally found a flattering and hip-looking option that comes in multiple colors and doesn’t break the bank. Note, they run a tad small so go up a size.

Roberta Roller Rabbit Tunics & Kurtas – This Westside boutique radiates summer vibes!

Their colorful prints come in everything from pajamas to dresses, but I particularly love their tunics and kurtas for the perfect beach coverup.  You can even get a matching ensemble for your little one!

Pineapple Getup – Pineapple appears to be the print of choice this summer. Sport this symbol of hospitality daily with Toms metallic slip-ons, printed hair ties, a beach tote, or tank.  There’s nothing like a little something festive to get you through a hot summer day.

Herschel Backpack – Let’s be real, having two hands available is more of a necessity than a luxury and digging through deep bags for tiny toys gets old fast. Retire the ol’ diaper bag and give this pretty in pink (apricot blush) backpack a try.  It’s perfect for toys, diapers, & lip gloss alike.

Trish McEvoy Lip Perfector Conditioning Balm – This balm is a cross between a lipstick and chapstick.  The color adjusts to your skin tone, making it look different on each wearer. The sheer color is just enough to make your lips pop without seeming like you’re trying too hard.

Swig Wine Tumbler – This insulated tumbler is pure genius.  It keeps your water (or wine…) cold for up to 24 hours, plenty of time to make it to the playground and back, and it holds 9 ounces!  If that doesn’t help you survive the summer then I apologize for failing you.

Christine
Christine grew up in the Atlanta area where she returned after college and met her husband of 5 years in one of the last standing dive bars from what most of us remember as 'old Buckhead'. After six years in consulting, she pursued her dream to go culinary school in NY and then Italy where she gained the experience necessary to start a boutique catering company, Squash Blossom Kitchens, with a good childhood friend. When she's not catering during the week, she enjoys staying home part-time with her son, Nolan, and her rescue pit mix, Vita. She loves long walks on the belt line, yoga, and Campari cocktails and looks forward to sharing her stories and advice on living in town with a little one.
